Teravista Elementary was recently named a 2021-2023 National PTA School of Excellence! National PTA’s School of Excellence program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools that work to improve the educational experience and school environment for every child. As a National PTA School of Excellence, at Teravista Elementary, families feel welcomed and empowered to support student success, and PTA is a key partner for continuous school improvement. The School of Excellence program provided guidance to assist our school in engaging families in school decision-making, and help our school build inclusive policies related to education, health, safety or the arts. Becoming a National PTA School of Excellence began with the joint commitment of PTA and our phenomenal administrative team to work together to welcome all families, communicate effectively, support student success, speak up for every child, share power and collaborate with the community. Our school has successfully mastered these commitments and we applaud everyone for doing so. The path to excellence is a journey, not a destination, and we encourage your continued participation toward our goals, as this distinction places our PTA in the running to become a Phoebe Apperson Hearst Award recipient, which recognizes success in integrating family-school partnerships. We are extremely proud of the work that we have done to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students. Thank you for your commitment to our school community. Thank you for helping us reach this noteworthy milestone.

THANK YOU! To all who joined PTA this 2021-2022 school year and to those who volunteered throughout the year! Have a great summer! School of Excellence Survey Teravista Elementary PTA is continuing our participation in the National PTA School of Excellence program to grow our family-school partnerships and enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of all students in our community. As part of the process, National PTA requests feedback from families, administrators and teachers at two points in the school year—the beginning and the end. We have used your responses from the first survey to implement an action plan for continuous school improvement. Thus far we have identified a goal of growing family engagement at Teravista Elementary. We have worked to meet this goal in several ways including community events at Teravista Elementary (e.g. Family Fun Night), increased communication about volunteer opportunities at Teravista, and two new events to support families at key transition moments (panel sessions hosted by current parents for incoming Kindergarten parents and 5 th grade families transitioning to 6 th grade). Now it is time for our second survey! We are proud of what we have accomplished so far, and kindly ask for your feedback once again. Your responses will not only help us show our improvements but will also provide us with more information as we continue to build upon our efforts to enhance family-school partnerships in the future. Please take 5-10 minutes to reflect on your experience at this school and complete the attached survey. Mark the response that most accurately expresses how you feel about your experience. This survey is completely anonymous. Please complete this survey by Wednesday, May 25, 2022: Survey PTA Officers 2022-2023 We are looking for PTA board members for the 2022-2023 year. We even got an RV when COVID started. Share about your kiddo: We’re an only child family. Clayton is in Mrs. Cheany’s 3rd grade class. Why did you join PTA? It’s important to me to know what’s happening at the school and getting to know the people that Clayton is being surrounded by. PTA is a great way to give back while getting to know the TVE community.
