PTA Nominating Committee Seeking Officers

Dear Teravista Families,

The time has come to elect the Officers to serve on the PTA Executive Committee for the 2022-2023 school year. A Nominating Committee has been formed to select a Slate of Officers to present to the PTA for election. We would like your input in recommending PTA officers for the 2022-2023 school year.

The positions available for election include:

President, who serves as the presiding officer of the Local PTA and over executive board and membership meetings. The president directs the affairs of the association in cooperation with the other members of the executive board for a term of one year. More information is available here: http://www.txpta.org/president

Vice President 1 responsible for overseeing School Services and Fundraising. Steps up in the absence of the President.

Vice President 2 responsible for overseeing Communications and Programs. Steps up in the absence of the President and Vice President 1.

Secretary has the important task of maintaining the records of the PTA. Accuracy, dependability and promptness are great qualities of a Secretary. By ensuring all orders of business are running smoothly throughout each meeting, the secretary plays a key role in the success of your PTA. For more information on this role click here: http://www.txpta.org/secretary

Treasurer has the task of keeping track of all funds that come in and out of your PTA. You are important in your PTA because your members and fellow officers depend on you and your expertise in all things financial. Budgets, taxes and dues are a few items you will be handling throughout the year. For more information, click here: http://www.txpta.org/treasurer

The PTA serves as a liaison between the Teravista parents, students, teachers, and administration. We have a strong, goal oriented PTA, and it is important for our children, that we continue the great work that our PTA has done. It is fundamental to our organization that we fill these positions with interested and dedicated parents who are committed to the well-being of our students, staff and families.

***If you are interested in one of these positions or know someone who is worthy of nomination, please respond no later than April 1st, 2022 to the committee via email at communications@teravistapta.com.

If you are interested, but need more information, feel free to contact one of the current PTA officers.

Jennifer Jones Barbour (President): president@teravistapta.com

Danielle Gillooly (Vice President 1): VP1@teravistapta.com

Erica Fox (Vice President 2): VP2@teravistapta.com

Thank you,

TvE PTA Nominating Committee

Clothes Closet

One of the important activities the Teravista PTA helps with is the RRISD Clothes Closet. Each year the Clothes Closet helps over 1,000 students providing gently used clothing and new socks and new underwear. If you know a student who needs clothing please have them contact the school nurse for a voucher.

TvE PTA also volunteers to work at the RRISD Clothes Closet once a month helping to fill the vouchers for students and their families. Our volunteer day is the third Thursday of each month at Voigt Elementary School. Our next volunteer day is March 24. If you are interested in volunteering at the Clothes Closet please check out

We still need a volunteer to be the Teravista PTA Board Chair for the Clothes Closet. If you're interested in serving as the PTA Board Chair for the Clothes Closet, please email president@teravistapta.com.
