    October is here already! Here's what's happening with the PTA this month. General Meeting on October 16th @ 6:30pm in the Library We encourage all members to attend! Join us for our first General Meeting of the year. Come and meet the PTA board, and learn about all the ways in which we support our school. Mr. Wakefield and the PTA board will be opening up the floor to any questions and feedback you may have. Take advantage of this exciting opportunity to have your voice heard. Plus, Mr. Wakefield has generously offered to supply pizza for all attendees at 6:15pm! Membership Contest Extended!! Get those memberships in by Halloween! The class that brings in the most PTA memberships wins a donut party. Winning class must have at least 10 new memberships by October 31st. Mrs. Mustain's Kindergarten class and Miss Tiemann's 1st grade classes are currently in the lead! Our goal is one membership for every student at Teravista Elementary. Anyone can join-students, parents, grandparents, community members Reflections Art Program The 2023-2024 PTA Reflections Art Program has begun! Students are asked to create an original piece of art with the theme… “I AM HOPEFUL BECAUSE…” Categories: Visual Arts Dance Choreography Photography Literature Music Composition Film Composition Parents can find guidelines at https://www.txpta.org/reflections-participation Please submit an online entry form unless your student has a visual arts entry that you would like to submit physically in the TVE front office purple box Submission Deadline: October 20th The arts – and the National PTA Reflections program – support student success and serve as a valuable tool for building strong partnerships in your school community. Celebrate arts learning in your school community with Reflections. Save the Date! The Scary Skele-bration will be on Friday November 3rd from 6-8pm! Come join us for a night of spooky fun and marvelous mayhem. Wear those costumes one last time while you enjoy a fun night dancing with friends. Music will be provided by our very own Teravista neighborhood DJ, DJ Nolan with Moondance Entertainment. Snacks, drinks and glow items will be available for purchase. Hope to see you all there! This is a wonderful way to serve less fortunate families in Round Rock. A message from the Clothes Closet Managers: We always (always!) need men's boxer briefs in all sizes. This is the style of choice for most middle school and high school boys, so we go through a lot in all adult sizes, especially S-L. Preschool clothes for boys are the other need, especially underwear (sizes 4T and 5T), shorts (sizes 4T-7), and pants (sizes 4T-7). Your help with getting us restocked will greatly help out our Elementary School Nurses, Pre-K/Kindergarten Teachers...and moms!     Welcome Back, Tigers! We hope you all had a fantastic first week at school. Our PTA does incredible work for our school and community. Find out ways you can help and participate below! There's something for everyone. Membership Want to know how you can help out at Teravista Elementary? Join the PTA! Help us reach our goal of one membership for every child at TVE. PTA memberships help pay for things like teacher grants, educational materials for our students and putting on our awesome Lighthouse Festival. There is no further obligation and you get discounts at some great businesses. Anyone can join - parents, children, grandparents, community members and everyone else. Volunteering Another great way to help? Get on the list! We know that not everyone has time to volunteer in the building, but there are so many ways to help! We are building our list of people to reach out to when we need some extra hands. Sometimes, we just need help with donations! Keep an eye out for the first Fill the Fridge sign up of the year. We'll be stocking that workroom in September. Our teachers and staff have really enjoyed when we fill their workroom with drinks, snacks and sweet treats. In the meantime, fill out our Volunteer Interest Form and we'll be in touch when more opportunities come up. Spirit Wear Show some Tiger Pride! This year's spirit wear is for sale now in our PTA shop. We have two new designs and our Legacy Lighthouse design comes in a long-sleeve tee and hoodie for more options. We know you all took a ton of pictures at Meet the Teacher night and on the First Day of School... we saw them posted all over social media! We would love for you to share them with us for a chance to be featured in a spread of the 2023-2024 Teravista Yearbook. (These pics must be on school grounds to be eligible.) Just fill out the Yearbook Photo Submission form and upload your pictures. If you're having trouble because you don’t have a google account, you can also email pics to yearbook@teravistapta.com. Please include student's name, grade, and the event. Volunteers Needed for the Yearbook Committee! No experience in photography or graphic design necessary! We will need some help taking photos at school events ( with your cell phone - no fancy camera needed) and/or adding photos to layout pages online. Tuesday, May 16th @ 6pm & 7pm Are you the parent of a 5th grader? Do you know any parents of incoming Kinder kiddos? Join us for chat in the Teravista Library to hear from parents who have just made these transitions. Learn what to expect and get your questions answered. We've heard these talks were really helpful last year!Yearbooks have been distributed! 4th Grade Parent Volunteers Needed! Decorating for 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony Our 5th Graders are moving on to middle school and to celebrate we'll be having a "Promotion Ceremony"! But we need some help decorating! We're asking our 4th Grade Parents to help out, and every year our new 4th Grade Parents will Pay It Forward! Decorating will be after school Wednesday, May 24th. The ceremony will be the following morning. Yearbooks have been distributed! Yearbooks went home with your child on Friday, May 12th. Did you miss out on ordering a yearbook? The PTA will donate $10 to the 5th grade End of Year Celebration for each 5th grade student who volunteers! Sign Up Here Spring Book Fair Volunteers are Needed 4/6-4/14! It's time for the book fair and we would love your help in the library. We need help with set-up, book sales, and clean-up. This is a fun and wonderful event for the kids!     General PTA Meeting TONIGHT @ 6:30pm! All PTA members are welcome. Come hear a little bit about what we do as a board and feel free to ask any questions. Lighthouse Festival: March 24th 4-8pm Preorder Your Wristbands and join us for: Bouncy Houses • Games • Petting Zoo • Train Rides • Food Trucks • Silent Auction • and More! K-12th Grade Wristbands: $14.50 each Pre-K Wristbands: $8.50 each Last day to preorder is Monday, 3/20. Wristbands are not required for adults. We need volunteers! Donations can be anything that you think goes along with these themes! They will be used to create baskets that will be included in the Silent Auction. Please send in donations to your child’s teacher by March 10th (extended date). Any leftover stock will be sold for $40 after 4/30. Library Volunteers Needed! We are in need of more volunteers in the library, especially in the mornings.
