Happy Earth Day! We're heading into the last month of school but there's still a lot happening...

The Yogurt Experience Spirit Night is Tomorrow, Tuesday April 23rd

Stop by any time they're open and get your whole family a special treat!

Our next School-wide PTA Meeting is next Monday, April 29th

We invite all PTA members and their kids to join us.

We will be voting in our executive officers for the 2024-2025 school year!

The nominating committee submits the following nominees for the 2024-2025 school year.

President: Sabine McCalla

VP1: Rohan Sreenivasan

VP2: Melanie Fulk

Secretary: Kelly Brewer Smith

Treasurer: Alma Langan

Families will have the opportunity to make cards for Veterans at the meeting.

The PTA is working with Honor Flight Austin to get these cards to Veterans in our area. We will supply the materials, we just need your creativity!

National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6th-10th

Let's show our staff how much we appreciate all they do for our kiddos!

FEELING CRAFTY?

Help us appreciate our amazing teachers and staff by creating door posters to tell them why they are superstars. These don’t have to take a ton of time or supplies either! Check out some ideas below or checkout Pinterest for some inspiration. Consider creating a poster (or two) by signing up below.

DON'T HAVE TIME TO MAKE A POSTER?

That's ok! Spoil your teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week with these fun, themed days! These are NOT requirements by any means, just some suggestions. Pick and choose what treats work best for you and your family.

URGENT NEED: YEARBOOK CHAIR FOR 2024-2025

We love that we are fortunate enough to have a yearbook every year, and we don’t want next year's classes to miss out! IF WE DO NOT GET A VOLUNTEER TO CHAIR THE YEARBOOK COMMITTEE, THERE WILL BE NO YEARBOOK NEXT YEAR. Anyone can do it! The program is easy to use. This position has an 8 person committee to help create pages and assist with photography. Initial training and support throughout the year will be provided by previous chair. To learn more or volunteer email yearbook@teravistapta.com

The finalized yearbook cover is here!

There are limited copies left for sale. Here's your chance to get a copy before it sells out again!

If you have any issues or questions when ordering, contact yearbook@teravistapta.com

Did you know that your yearbook has a digital extension called Yearbook+?

It will have photos from events like Lighthouse Festival, Living Museum, Leadership Day and 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony featured privately online! Only people with a copy of the yearbook can access this private website.

Help us build our digital yearbook by submitting your photos from the Lighthouse Festival!

Transition Talks are Back!

Save the Date: Tuesday, May 2nd @ 6pm & 7pm

Are you the parent of a 5th grader? Do you know any parents of incoming Kinder kiddos? Join us for chat in the Teravista Library to hear from parents who have just made these transitions. Learn what to expect and get your questions answered. We've heard these talks were really helpful last year!

Teravista College and Career Fair 2024

Friday, May 10th, 7:35-10:35am

We are looking for community volunteers and speakers to share information with our Pre-Kindergarten-5th Grade students about their various careers, professions, and educational paths. If you are interested in helping our students BE PROACTIVE in thinking about their future please consider joining us to present. Even if you are only able to attend for a portion of the event, we would love to have you!

We also need help with decorating and getting refreshments for this special day. Sign up to help or donate.

RRISD Clothes Closet is "hiring" and they are still need of donations!

They are "hiring" extra managers and, in a new role, assistant managers. Both are volunteer roles, with the top criteria being consistent availability for 2-3 shifts per month (2 hour shifts), and a welcoming, supportive attitude - especially with folks whose primary language isn't English (fluent Spanish is a big plus!). Managers have a key and the potential for duties outside regular hours (e.g., assisting with large donation deliveries), and assistant managers will only serve on-site during regular hours. Please reach out to Monica Welch (clothescloset@rrisdpta.org), if you'd like to join their fantastic team!

The items needed most are:

🩳 Boxer Briefs in all MS/HS sizes, especially Mens Large

🧦 Girls Socks in size Medium

🩳👖Little Boys Shorts/Pants in sizes 4T-7

🩳👖Shorts/Pants for HS boys, especially Mens 32-34 waist

👚👕👖🩳👗🧦 Plus, they will always take gently used school clothes for every child and size… they have room on their racks!

Don't have any of the items listed above? They have also developed an Amazon Wishlist that meets many of their on-going needs. Here's the wishlist link: https://bit.ly/SocksUndies

Helpful Tip: Selecting "Monica Welch's gift registry address" at checkout will send the items directly to the Clothes Closet chair, and will save you a delivery trip!
